Facilitation of the Energy managers network
Mission objectives
To coordinate a regional network of Energy Managers for Brussels Environment, building on the voluntary PLAGE initiatives carried out between 2006 and 2016 (municipalities, hospitals, SISP, schools). The network was designed to foster collective intelligence, the sharing of tools and best practice, and the ongoing training of its members.
Achievements and impact
- An active community of Energy Managers in the Brussels-Capital Region, drawn from organisations supported under the PLAGE programme.
- Dozens of workshops and technical visits organised over the years on energy in buildings, supplemented by online seminars.
- A wide range of topics, from operational matters to innovation:
- overheating management;
- decarbonisation of a residential tower block;
- swimming pools and combined heat and power;
- energy communities;
- geothermal heating in the City of Brussels;
- rooftop micro-wind turbines;
- heat pumps in office buildings.
- A virtual network (Discord) that enables Energy Managers to continue exchanging ideas and collaborating after the project has ended.
