A network of cycle routes for everyday use within the GAL Pays de Herve area

Mission objectives

To support the Local Action Group (GAL) in creating a safe, practical cycle network and in implementing a cross-municipal cycling policy. The aim is to enable residents to cycle to village centres and the area’s main hubs, to encourage them to use active modes of transport in their daily lives, and to meet local demand for active mobility.

Achievements and impact

• An assessment of cycling potential, based on transport hubs and destinations, existing or planned cycling infrastructure, and travel patterns.
• A cycling network based on the assessment and on-the-ground knowledge of local, municipal and regional stakeholders, gathered during participatory workshops.
• Proposals for infrastructure to be implemented (type, feasibility and cost).
