Exploring mobility data: connected cars and mobile telephony (FCD FMD)

Mission objectives

To explore, in collaboration with the Province of Walloon Brabant as part of a pioneering initiative, how big data from telecoms operators (Proximus) and GPS navigation providers (TomTom) can contribute to the analysis of travel patterns, and to support provincial officials in interpreting this data.

Achievements and impact

• Design of a mapping tool to integrate data visualisation into the GIS.
• Design of an interface enabling users to view targeted data (FMD).
