Mission objectives

To encourage the everyday use of active transport by enabling residents to reach the area’s main hubs safely on foot and by cycle, and to meet local demand for active transport.

Achievements and impact

• An assessment of cycling potential, based on transport hubs and centres of attraction, existing or planned cycling infrastructure, and travel patterns.
• Design of a cycle network based on the assessment and the on-the-ground knowledge of local, municipal and regional stakeholders, gathered through participatory workshops.
• Proposals for infrastructure to be implemented (type, feasibility and cost).
• Assessment of existing paths and trails and planning for their development.
• Dashboard to manage implementation (funding strategy, etc.).
