Analysis of the public consultation on the Walloon Waste and Resources Plan

Mission objectives

To analyse all the opinions received during the public inquiry and the consultation of statutory bodies carried out ahead of the adoption of the Walloon Waste-Resources Plan (PWD-R). The plan succeeds the Horizon 2010 Plan and transposes the new European circular economy obligations.

Achievements and impact

• Review and analysis of all responses from the public inquiry and from the consultation of the relevant bodies.
• Summary of the proposed amendments to the plan and preparation of a revised version of the PWD-R on that basis.
• Drafting of the environmental statement setting out how the opinions and comments of the public and the consulted bodies were taken into account.
• Contribution to the adoption, in March 2018, of a waste-resources plan compliant with European requirements for higher recycling rates.
