Tools for steering Wallonia’s cross-sectoral energy strategy

Mission objectives

To support the SPW and the Office of the Minister for Energy in drawing up Wallonia’s energy transition strategy, through a multi-sector energy model setting out Wallonia’s energy future – as well as a comprehensive, costed strategy for 2050.

Achievements and impact

• Provision of an energy model that optimises demand, generation, transmission and infrastructure across the various energy carriers (electricity, heat, gas, hydrogen, CO₂).
• Development of a costed, prioritised and phased cross-carrier energy strategy extending to 2050.
• Guidance on decisions regarding investment, support mechanisms and regulation.
