Technical support for decision-making in the context of implementing an energy/climate 2030 action plan
Context
In the wake of the Paris Climate Agreement, the European Union has set itself ambitious climate and energy targets. In this context, the Walloon authorities requested external expertise to propose the broad lines of new climate and energy policies by 2030.

Objectives
- Define the main areas for future climate and energy policies in the Walloon Region (2030);
- Study the different impacts of these policies;
- Present these policies to stakeholders and gather their feedback.
Execution
As part of this study, ICEDD was responsible for defining policies on:
- Developing alternatives to personal cars;
- Developing low-carbon individual mobility;
- Massification of goods transport;
- Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from non-ETS industries;
- Promotion of renewable heat;
- Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the food retail sector.
