Energy monitoring of gardens in Watermael-Boitsfort
Context
The assets of Société Coopérative de Locataires “Le Logis-Floréal” consist of 1,735 residences (houses and apartments) located in Watermael-Boitsfort and Auderghem in the garden city estates of Le Logis and Floréal, which are listed as Monuments and Sites heritage. Aiming in particular to improve the energy performance of the houses in the garden cities, the municipality of Watermael-Boitsfort is seeking to build a global framework of constructive collaboration with the managers of Le Logis-Floréal.

Objectives
The objective of the mission is to produce indicators that can be used to analyse and map out changes in the actual gas and electricity consumption of residences in the Floréal-Le Logis social estates, based on Sibelga data files purchased by the municipality and anonymised per housing block. This is being done with the aim of ultimately being able to:
- Assess the impact of awareness-raising campaigns
- Highlight the improvements made due to the work on the housing
Execution
As part of this mission, ICEDD:
- Analysed and transformed Sibelga’s actual gas and electricity consumption data to make them comparable on a year-to-year basis
- Laid down the calculation hypotheses for the creation of indicators (habitable surface areas, number of occupants, realistic thresholds, etc.)
- Produced an Excel tool that is easy to update when data for subsequent years becomes available and trained staff in its use
- Produced a set of 6 maps mapping out these indicators and their changes
