Objectives

To speed up the energy-efficiency refurbishment of co-owned properties in Brussels by supporting their transition to a low-carbon housing stock

Execution

  • Implementation of a bespoke support programme for block of flats, combining technical expertise, methodological support and stakeholder engagement
  • Support for around 100 blocks of flats over a five-year period, including monitoring of energy-efficiency refurbishment projects
  • Carrying out energy audits (quick-scans) to identify building performance, critical issues and areas for improvement
  • Drawing up operational recommendations and prioritised action plans (insulation, energy systems, renewable energy), including a phased approach to the works.
  • Facilitation of awareness-raising and decision-support sessions for co-owners, helping to secure buy-in and facilitate decision-making at general meetings
  • Support in overcoming technical, financial and organisational barriers faced by co-owners’ associations (ACPs)
  • Contribution to the improvement of public policy through feedback from the field and concrete proposals.
  • Numerous co-ownership estates have undertaken energy-efficiency renovation works, resulting in improved energy performance and greater comfort for residents
